Introduction

JM Newton Energy Sdn Bhd (“JNE”) started its business operations in 2019 in Malaysia. We are focused on the development of energy efficiency enhancement technology using GREEN technology applications. JNE is a one-stop integrated total energy management solutions provider and currently services shopping malls and hypermarkets in enhancing their systems energy efficiency.

JNE also fits in with the aspirations of Malaysia, paving the way for a greener and sustainable future in our quest for a better environment and a better world. 

JNE believes in making a difference by championing the change towards protecting the environment and simultaneously enhancing the profits for our clients through higher energy efficiency and savings in their energy consumption.

Our Revenue Model

JNE installs advanced energy efficiency enhancement equipment and earns a fee income based on a predetermined percentage of the amount of energy, water and other cost savings from our clients. In the short term, clients contract the energy management of their entire facility to us and pay a regular energy management fee.

  • Services are provided to clients through medium to long-term energy management contracts for a period of between 5-10 years.

  • We co-invest into the systems for the client and ensures continuous maintenance and even upgrading of technologies. Our model is easily scalable in the context of global expansion as it helps clients reduce cost in energy consumption without extra/initial investment.

  • As the solutions belong to ourselves, we can accommodate to the various needs of clients in areas of technology and commercially as well.  
 

 


Our Market Opportunity

In the long term, we will carry out our regional expansion in Southeast Asia. We will first expand to Singapore and Vietnam. We are also seeking to incorporate new business models in Malaysia. As the solutions belong to ourselves, we are flexible to customise solutions to meet the needs of clients, technology wise and commercially as well.

In addition, the total energy management solutions market is expected to grow at double digit year-on-year, reflecting a high growth potential.


Our Strategy

Customer/Go-to-Market Strategy

We are primarily focused on good quality clients of strong financial standing with a chain of properties locally and globally. We want to position ourselves as a widely accepted brand in the market through our advanced technology, comprehensive treatment system and unique business model. Our business strategy to enhance market penetration will be through :

  • Firstly, the business credit and financial stability must be of positive standing with secured long-term business.

  • Secondly, there must be proliferated sales growth generated as one of the pipeline sites (other sites) under the same group. This can be massively duplicated once the first pilot project is successfully delivered.

  • Next will be the corporations with very high CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) consciousness

As global environmental protection awareness increases, organisations are looking towards implementing energy savings systems while bringing down operation costs. Companies that have implemented alternative energy savings systems may not achieve desired results due to the system’s underperformance. Additionally, a large portion of the market has yet to implement non-chemical treatment systems for energy efficiency. For this segment of the market, our strategy is continuous market education while simultaneously building a portfolio of successful projects.

We conduct the initial brief to the customers and onwards in engaging them for site survey, technical and commercial communication. JNE’s model will be the leading business model used in the energy efficiency area and have a great environmental and economic impact in the green market.   • A user-friendly wireless energy performance monitoring system for energy saving-audit application. Users can log in and view the system performance in real time via web-based or smartphone app

  • Our own e-energy platform where we make available an online dashboard for customers and prospects to assess their energy consumption and potential energy savings by using our solutions. 

Medium Term

  • Intelligent solar powered system of grid and off-grid application, integrating hardware from our technical partner with our software design

  • An integrated EMS which includes all our existing products and can be integrated into the client's own system to manage energy usage - to be used for smart home and smart city application

Nicole J Szeto

Executive Director

Ms Nicole has had substantial experience in her 20 over years of service in corporate finance and investment banking with CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad. She was the Group Coordinator in Strategic Planning for The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and formulated the strategies, trading rules, corporate & regulatory rules plus market development plans for the Securities Industry. She was instrumental in initiating the change of direction for the KLSE into the present today. She acquired a set of strong financial and asset management skills as the Country Asset Manager with the Inchcape Group overseeing assets in 9 major companies in the Group. Amongst them are companies in FMCG, Trading, Marketing, Branded Lifestyle, Healthcare, Contract Manufacturing, Automotive, Manufacturing and Logistics.

Anson Hu

Chief Technology Officer

Mr Anson has more than 17 years of working experience in the area of environmental technology. Over the years, he managed to acquire 17 patents in the energy saving systems. With that, he had implemented more than 100 energy saving and green projects in Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore and China. Anson is a graduate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering (Environmental) from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
